As I have come of age in the church and have seen and heard many, many things that were not congruent with scripture, I have discovered that usually the root of such fallacy can easily be attributed to misinterpretation of scripture due to false doctrine or what has been deemed in recent years as Frankenstein Hermaneutics where a preacher, teacher, prophet, etc. refuses to read scripture comprehensively and instead they seek to apply scripture from a “patchwork quilt” perspective where scripture is taken out of context and another erroneous meaning is applied. A great example of this is the common erroneous usage of Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.” New age gurus and even church leaders are constantly taking this scripture out of context and applying some other meaning to this scripture. Out of context this scripture is made to sound as if “whatever you think in your heart you will become” so if you think and believe that you are God (such as what the New Age Movement teaches) then you are God.  This scripture out of context is used to perpetuate the fallacy of “willing” into existence who and what you want to be which in and of itself is luciferian in nature in that it seeks to mute the will of God Almighty in favor of the will of our flesh. In context this scripture is referring to a stingy and selfish person who invites you to partake of his meal and once you take him up on his offer, he is concentrating on the cost of the food and thinking ill in his heart toward you because you took him up on his offer.  This scripture read and studied comprehensively and in correct context of scripture is warning Believers to be careful of people who say one thing with their mouths that outwardly seems honorable and generous but in their hearts they only have selfish and evil intentions. So you see this scripture has nothing to do with thinking or willing yourself in to doing or being anything!

This disturbing and deceptive misuse of scripture only exacerbates the trauma and damage that false doctrine does to the church and this “Frankenstein” approach to hermaneutics only confuses people and causes a great deal of derision and disillusionment in the church.  Much of this is as the result of the subtle infusion of New Age doctrines (I Timothy 4:1) courtesy of the fallacious, Word of Faith movement and a host of other false teachings.  This is another example as to why Believers cannot wait to be spoon-fed Scripture on Sunday mornings while never seeking to know God for themselves in Scripture. God wants us to know Him personally and intimately!  How can you know Him if we don’t read and study His Word comprehensively and completely? Or if we don’t have a quality prayer life that puts us in the face of Yahweh seeking Him passionately and sincerely on a regular basis and not just when we are in trouble?

Another horrible contributor to this deception is the church’s willingness to divorce itself from the commandments of God. God’s commandments are the laws of His kingdom. Every kingdom has laws and God’s kingdom is no different! When churches poo-poo the Old Testament by subscribing to erroneous doctrine that Jesus came to render the commandments of God null and void this jeopardizes the foundation and structure of all that The True Bride is comprised. This once again is a deception brought about by the apostate, churchianity movement that makes it, not only easy for Frankenstein Hermaneutics to exist but allows it to thrive and flourish in the pulpits of churches all over the world by perpetuating the myth of Jesus making the law void instead of Him coming to earth to fulfill the law. Everything concerning the ritual sacrifices of the Old Testament was a type and shadow of Messiah but when He came down to earth, He did so to fulfill the law not to render it void. So this erroneous teaching that tries to obliterate the laws of God by implying or blatantly professing  that those laws are obsolete, has set the foundations of anarchy and rebellion which results in nothing but lawlessness and confusion. When we understand the fullness of what Messiah’s mission was and how He successfully fulfilled His mission then we are able to have a firm foundation and structure for our lives.  The law and the Prophets is necessary for us to know and adhere to because just like the Gospel they provide structure. You can’t have one without the other. It was death to us for as long as we were without the grace of God to help us live out these commands but now that we have God’s grace and are able to actually become the Tabernacle of the Holy Spirit, we have been given the power and grace we need to abide by these commands. We have no righteousness of our own that will permit us to commit to such an undertaking without utter, abject failure but it is via the grace of God and His Holy Spirit that we are able to enter the process of sanctification and as we submit to this process we are able to conform to the image of Messiah and be transformed by the renewing of our minds which is always obedient to God’s laws, His commands.

What is the most ironic thing about this erroneous teaching is that Messiah obeyed the very laws that these false teachers, prophets and teachers would have you believe that He rendered obsolete. He performed miracles on the Sabbath but never once does He imply that it was okay for us to disregard the Sabbath. Whatever He did that seemed to have been a violation of God’s laws in the eyes of the Pharisees, was always for the edification of God’s sheep and never for vain purposes.  We need to be careful not to allow anyone to taint who we are in Yeshua by giving us aberrant and apostate doctrine. Know the Scriptures for yourself!!! Know God intimately for yourself!

The pic below is my exact sentiment, Believers are being attacked in ways that they don’t even understand. Oblivious to sound doctrine and the true mission of the church and failing to realize that The True Bride of Christ doesn’t behave like a secret society, social club or sacred clique. But most churches today because they lack the love of Messiah and the structure of His law,  are in danger of being further deceived so much so that they will believe that their eternal home will be eternity with Yeshua when it may very well be in the pit because they lack the Yeshua’s love and hunger for souls.  They don’t understand that to live Holy is a joy not a task and it is their rejection of holiness that is going to separate them from truly being saved from sin.  Satan is killing them softly and they haven’t the foggiest clue as to what is happening or why! A steady diet of television, video games, social networking, etc and very little Bible reading and a practically non-existent prayer life is nothing but a set up to be swept away and taken under by this satanic world system. They justify seeking after carnal pleasure and they find themselves doing what the world does because they think that it is their responsibility to make Yeshua look “cool” so they go clubbing, get tattoos, etc. and they yield to the same idolatrous nature that brought judgement upon the Children of Israel.   Remember, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” I Peter 4:17.
